Examinations for Marine Pilots

Examinations for coast pilots will be conducted by the Pacific Pilotage Authority in April 2026, to establish a list of applicants eligible to become apprentice marine pilots in the coastal waters (Areas 2, 3, 4 and 5), of the Pacific Pilotage Region.

Applicants must be:
- Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents
- willing obtain a Police Information Check
- willing to undergo a medical examination to assess mental and physical fitness to perform the duties of a marine pilot.
Applicants who believe they are qualified should submit a written request to the following address for an application package prior to 1530 hrs on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
